About ARCOmadrid
ARCOmadrid is Spain's leading international contemporary art fair and one of the most prestigious art events in the world, held annually in late February or early March at IFEMA Madrid. Founded in 1982, ARCO has made Madrid a global capital of contemporary art across more than four decades.
The fair brings together over 210 galleries from 30+ countries in Pavilions 7 and 9 at IFEMA, showcasing the work of around 1,300 artists ranging from established international names to emerging voices. The 2026 edition celebrated ARCO's 45th anniversary, closing with 95,000 visitors and an economic impact of €195 million for the city.
ARCOmadrid is structured around a General Programme of invited galleries alongside curated sections including Opening, Expanded Box and Solo Projects. An extensive parallel programme of performances, lectures, guided tours and collector events runs throughout the five days. The fair attracts museum curators, institutional collectors and public acquisition committees from across Europe, Latin America and beyond.
For galleries, ARCOmadrid is the indispensable event for placing work with European collectors and institutions.
